Your Tour Guide and Driver will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia between 9:30 and 9:45am for a full day Cappadocia Red tour (also known as Northern Cappadocia tour).
Your guide will tell you information about the region and details of each place that you visit; they will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.
The tour will begin with a drive, high above Cappadocia to Uçhisar Castle for a wonderful view of the whole region. The second stop is at the Göreme Open-Air Museum where the best-preserved and documented ancient churches are waiting for you to explore. Then you will go to the Old Greek Village of Çavuşin, to see the Greek houses dating back to the 5th century.
Lunch will be taken in Avanos, the town on the Kızılırmak River (Red River) where pottery making as a local craft dates back perhaps 5000 years. You can even have a go on the potter’s wheel yourself to see if it would be a good career move for you!
The tour continues with a walk around Paşabağ where the unique fairy chimneys abound and you will see that some have more than one head. You will see the famous ‘Family’ of fairy chimneys, the symbols of Cappadocia and the Devrent Valley, known as Imagination Valley which contains many animal shaped rocks – how many can you spot?
Ürgüp is the last stop of the tour where you may get the chance to sample some local wine.
You will return to your hotel at around 17:00 – 17:30 with full of happy memories from your day.
