Overview

Your tour guide and driver will meet you up at your hotel in Cappadocia between 9:30 and 9:45am for a full day Cappadocia Green Tour (Also known as the Southern Cappadocia Tour).

Your guide will tell you information about the region and details of each place that you visit; they will also be happy to answer any questions you may have.

The first stop of the tour is at Esentepe Panoramic Viewpoint – the very best place to photograph Göreme and its surroundings. From there you will go to visit and explore an underground city, at either Derinkuyu or Kaymakli. Then you will take a walk in the beautiful Ihlara Valley, (about 3 or 4 km) visiting churches and points of interest along the way.  Lunch will be taken at Belisirma Village, at the end of your walk, where you can refresh your tired feet in the Melendiz River. After lunch you will see the spectacular fairy chimneys at Yaprakhisar before visiting Selime Cathedral Rock Monastery. Take the opportunity for a nap for an hour or so as you drive back towards Göreme, waking to take a look at Pigeon Valley and hear about the role of pigeons in the region. Just opposite the Pigeon Valley viewpoint you can, learn about Onyx and semi-precious stones being worked into jewellery and ornaments.  If there is time, you may be lucky and get to try some of the famous Turkish delight and typical dried fruits of a local vendor.

You will return to your hotel at around 18:00 – 18:30 with full of happy memories from your day.
