Check the official Cappadocia Slot Service Center (SSC) flight permission, live sector status and sunrise-window weather forecast before your Cappadocia hot air balloon flight.
Commercial balloon flights are authorized by the Cappadocia Slot Service Center (SSC). Operators cannot fly when SSC does not permit flights for the relevant sector and time period.
Northern Cappadocia balloon area around Avanos and Aktepe. It may offer wider open views and can differ from the central Göreme sector depending on wind direction.
Central Cappadocia balloon area, including the classic Göreme valley surroundings. Many standard Göreme balloon experiences operate around this central zone.
Southern Cappadocia balloon area. It can be quieter than the central sector and may be used depending on daily wind, launch planning and SSC permission.
Flights are permitted for the listed sector and time period. This still depends on normal operator preparation, passenger readiness and launch area coordination.
A yellow flag means that commercial balloon flights are temporarily on hold because weather conditions are uncertain. The SSC reassesses conditions near takeoff—usually after 15–20 minutes, sometimes up to an hour—then updates the status to green if conditions improve or red if they do not.
Commercial flights are not permitted for the listed sector and time period. Operators cannot fly when SSC publishes a red no-flight status.
