Most Cappadocia balloon permission updates are announced close to sunrise. If SHM does not permit flights, commercial operators cannot fly for the relevant sector and time period.
Sector A generally covers the northern Cappadocia balloon area around Avanos and Aktepe.
Sector B covers the central Göreme balloon area, including Göreme, Ortahisar and Ürgüp surroundings.
Sector C covers the southern balloon area around Mustafapaşa, Kavak and İbrahimpaşa.

Wind, gusts, fog, rain, low visibility and unsafe sector conditions can prevent SHM from granting flight permission.
Green means flights are permitted. Yellow means operators are ready in the field and waiting for SHM because weather conditions are uncertain. A yellow flag can stay active for 10-15 minutes or sometimes up to about 1 hour; after that, SHM may update it to green if the risk clears or red if flights are cancelled.
Ask your operator for the next available sunrise flight first. If your travel plan is short, confirm refund and reschedule rules before booking.
