Day-1 Flight to Cappadocia

We will pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer you to the airport for your afternoon flight to Cappadocia. Upon your arrival, we will meet you at the exit gate of the airport and transfer you to your Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. There is the option of evening entertainments such as the Turkish night Show, a Whirling Dervish ceremony, or you could even join a Sunset ATV ride, if you are keen to start your adventure. Alternatively you could enjoy a relaxing night in.

Day-2 Southern Cappadocia Tour

After breakfast, your professional tour guide will pick you up around 9:30am to start the full day tour of South Cappadocia. The first stop is Esentepe, the best place to photograph Göreme and its surroundings. You will then venture down into Derinkuyu, the deepest excavated underground city in Cappadocia. Archaeological evidence suggests that this was originally built by the Hittites, but later enlarged by early Christians escaping persecution from the Romans. Returning to the surface, you will be taken to the amazing valley of Ihlara for an easy walk between churches carved out of the rocks. You will be provided with a traditional local lunch at Belisirma by the stream, and then taken to see the spectacular fairy chimneys at Yaprakhisar and the Selime Rock Monastery. Your last destination is Pigeon Valley, famous for its many dovecotes, and a pleasant place to take a gentle hike. Opposite the entrance to the valley, you can visit a Jeweler’s to see onyx and semi-precious stones crafted into beautiful artifacts. You will then be transferred back to Cappadocia into your Cave Hotel where you are free to choose how to spend your evening.

Day-3 Northern Cappadocia Tour & Flight to Istanbul

Again, after breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up around 9:30am, this time to begin a tour of North Cappadocia, startıng at Uçhisar Castle with its impressive views of the whole region. From here it is a short bus ride to the UN World Heritage Site - Göreme Open-Air Museum - where you can see the best preserved and documented ancient churches. From here you will travel to Çavuşin Village, which dates back to the 5th century, and where you can see some interesting Greek architecture. We will stop for a delicious local lunch in the town of Avanos, next to the Kizilirmak River where craftsmen have been making pottery for more than 5000 years. If you’re feeling creative, you can even try your hand on the potter’s wheel.
The tour continues with a walk around the unique fairy chimneys at Paşabağ, then on to your final stop at Ürgüp to sample some regional wines. You will be returned to your hotel for a rest, and then we will drop you at the airport for your evening flight to Istanbul. From Istanbul airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation in Istanbul.
