Classic Cappadocia Green Tour follows the original Green Tour route without shortcuts. The tour includes Göreme Panorama, Derinkuyu underground city, Ihlara valley (3kms walk), visit to Selime Rock Monastery, and Pigeon Valley. Starting at 9:30 AM and ending between 6:00 and 7:00 PM, this full day guided tour is ideal for travelers who want to experience the authentic Green Tour rather than a shortened Eco version.
Meet your guide and driver at your hotel between 9:00 and 9:45 AM, depending on your hotel’s location. Your exact pick up time will be confirmed one day prior to the tour.
The first stop is Göreme Panorama, where the guide introduces Cappadocia’s volcanic landscape and fairy chimney formations while enjoying panoramic views.
As the second stop of the tour, Pigeon Valley offers panoramic views of the region. Here, you will see the cave carved pigeon houses and learn how pigeons once played an important role in Cappadocia’s agriculture and daily life.
A visit to a local onyx workshop offers insight into traditional stone craftsmanship and the natural stones found in the Cappadocia region.
The tour continues at Derinkuyu Underground City, offering an in depth look into underground life. You will discover how people once lived beneath the surface, exploring ventilation systems, living spaces, and learning how these remarkable cities were used for protection.
Lunch break at a riverside restaurant in Ihlara Village, providing time to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Take a peaceful walk of approximately 1 hour 15 minutes through Ihlara Valley, where the path follows the river between towering canyon walls. Along the way, you will pass rock carved churches and hidden corners of the valley while discovering how nature, history, and daily life once came together in this remarkable landscape.
Visit Selime Monastery, the largest rock cut monastery in Cappadocia, where you will explore its impressive chambers, churches, and living areas. Learn about its religious importance, monastic life, and the unique architecture carved directly into the rock.
After completing the tour program, guests are transferred back to their hotels between 18:00 and 19:00.
