Hotel Pick-Up and Group Meeting
The day begins with collection from centrally located Cappadocia hotels between approximately 09:00 and 09:45. After the guide and other participants have met, the group departs in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Cappadocia Eco Red Tour (Full-Day Guided Tour)
The Cappadocia Eco Red Tour offers a budget-friendly way to discover the landscapes and cultural traditions of northern Cappadocia in a single day. Designed for travellers who want to visit several popular locations at a more accessible price, the programme combines panoramic viewpoints, fairy chimneys, a historic rock-cut settlement and a traditional pottery demonstration.
Unlike the Classic Red Tour, this Eco version does not visit Göreme Open Air Museum. Instead, its principal historical stop is Zelve Open Air Museum, where cave dwellings, religious spaces and passages reveal the remains of a former rock-cut community. Uçhisar Castle and Love Valley are experienced from panoramic viewpoints, while Paşabağ allows time to see Cappadocia’s distinctive mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys more closely.
The Eco Red Tour in Cappadocia is particularly suitable for budget-conscious travellers, first-time visitors and guests who prefer varied scenery with less emphasis on Byzantine churches and frescoes. Hotel transfers, licensed guiding, museum admissions and lunch are included, creating a practical full-day introduction to northern Cappadocia.
What to Expect
Uçhisar Castle Panorama
The first part of the tour includes a panoramic stop beneath Uçhisar Castle. From the viewpoint, you can observe the rock-carved settlement and the surrounding Cappadocian landscape. The tour does not include climbing to the top of the castle.
Love Valley Panorama
At the Love Valley viewpoint, you will see some of the region’s tallest and most unusual natural rock formations from above. This is a panoramic photography stop rather than a walk through the valley.
Avanos Pottery Demonstration
The journey continues to Avanos, a town known for its pottery tradition and its connection to the red clay of the Kızılırmak River. At a local workshop, artisans demonstrate traditional pottery-making techniques, and selected guests may have an opportunity to try the pottery wheel.
Lunch at a Local Restaurant
A set-menu lunch is served at a local restaurant. Vegetarian alternatives are available when requested. Drinks are ordered and paid for separately.
Zelve Open Air Museum
Zelve is the principal historical visit of the Eco Red Tour. You will walk through a dramatic rock-cut settlement containing cave rooms, religious spaces and passages carved into the volcanic landscape. The licensed guide explains how the site developed and how its inhabitants adapted the surrounding rock for daily life.
Paşabağ Fairy Chimneys
At Paşabağ, also known as Monks Valley, you can walk among some of Cappadocia’s best-known mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys. The formations display several stages of natural erosion, while rock-cut chambers reflect the area’s former religious use.
Devrent Valley
The final sightseeing stop is Devrent Valley, known for naturally sculpted rocks that resemble animals and other familiar shapes. The stop focuses on the geological landscape, imagination and photography rather than historical buildings.
Return to Your Hotel
After completing the programme, the group returns to the central Cappadocia hotel area. Drop-off is normally expected around 17:00 to 17:30, depending on traffic and the pace of the group.

Booking and Payment
- A 25% deposit payment is required at the time of booking.
- The remaining balance can be paid in cash or by card on the day of the tour.
Cancellation and Refund
- Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the tour date.
- For cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour date, the full booking cost will apply as a cancellation fee.

- Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from centrally located hotels throughout Cappadocia.
- Pickup takes place between 09:00 and 09:45, depending on your hotel’s location.
Child Pricing
- Children aged 8 and under receive a 50% discount.
- Children over 8 are charged the adult price.
Tour Languages
- The booking price applies to the English-language tour.
- The tour is also available in Spanish, Russian, Korean and Chinese, subject to guide availability.
- Prices may vary depending on the selected language. Please contact us before booking for prices and availability in languages other than English.
Tour Schedule
- The guide may adjust the schedule due to weather, traffic or other operational factors. However, all scheduled stops will be covered whenever conditions permit.
FAQs
What is the difference between the Eco Red Tour and Classic Red Tour?
The Eco Red Tour visits Zelve Open Air Museum and includes panoramic stops at Uçhisar and Love Valley. The Classic Red Tour follows the original route and visits Göreme Open Air Museum, one of Cappadocia’s most important historical sites.
Does the Eco Red Tour visit Göreme Open Air Museum?
No. Göreme Open Air Museum is not included in this programme. Guests who specifically want to see its Byzantine rock-cut churches and frescoes should choose the Classic Red Tour.
Is Zelve the same as Göreme Open Air Museum?
No. Zelve is a former rock-cut settlement with cave dwellings and religious spaces. Göreme Open Air Museum is particularly known for its monastery complex, churches and Byzantine frescoes.
Do we enter Uçhisar Castle?
No. The group visits a viewpoint beneath the castle. Climbing to the top and the castle entrance ticket are not part of the tour.
Do we walk inside Love Valley?
No. Love Valley is viewed from a panoramic area. The programme does not include a complete walk through the valley.
Is purchasing pottery compulsory?
No. The demonstration is part of the cultural programme, but guests are under no obligation to purchase anything.
Is the tour suitable for travellers with limited mobility?
The panoramic stops require relatively little walking, but Zelve and Paşabağ have uneven surfaces, slopes and natural paths. They may be difficult for wheelchair users or guests with serious mobility limitations.
Which Red Tour should I choose?
Choose the Eco Red Tour if price and a varied introduction to northern Cappadocia are your priorities. Choose the Classic Red Tour if you want the original route and consider Göreme Open Air Museum an essential part of your visit.

I have no fault of this experience from pick up to drop off it was professionally and enjoyably... done. The staff were fun and friendly. The pilot was talented and added some fun aspects shadows on rock faces, commentary etc. It can be a bit daunting to spend this much on an experience but this is one of those that are really worth it. We flew mainly over the Valley of Love, but from above, you can see the entire area between Goreme and Uchisar. The price is €70 per person, but the price depends on the weather.
