Classic Cappadocia Green Tour
The Classic Cappadocia Green Tour explores the region’s southern landscapes, where underground settlements, deep valleys and rock-cut monuments reveal a different side of Cappadocia. The route combines a visit to an underground city with a riverside walk through Ihlara Valley, lunch beside the Melendiz River and stops at Selime Monastery and Pigeon Valley.
Unlike shorter Eco Green Tours, which may include only brief viewpoints or pass near some attractions without completing the full route (such as skipping the inside of Selime Monastery or the actual valley trek), the Classic Green Tour provides a more complete experience with guided visits and a proper walk through the Ihlara Valley floor. It is a full-day tour for travellers who want to explore both Cappadocia’s natural scenery and its historical sites in greater depth.

Visit either Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu Underground City, depending on the day’s route. You will walk through the narrow passages, deep tunnels, and interconnected chambers while learning how early civilizations used these remarkable underground spaces for shelter and daily life.
Complete 3.5 km Hike Inside the Ihlara Valley Floor
Follow the full 3.5 km walking route through the Ihlara Valley floor. Surrounded by steep canyon walls, lush riverside vegetation, and historic rock-cut churches, this proper trek allows you to experience one of Cappadocia’s most famous natural landscapes at a relaxed, peaceful pace.
Selime Monastery
Discover the massive Selime Monastery, an extensive rock-cut cathedral complex built directly into the towering cliffs. You will physically explore its hidden chambers, secret passageways, and elevated structures that offer a rich combination of Byzantine history and architecture.
Scenic Photo Stop at Pigeon Valley
Take in the stunning panoramic scenery of Pigeon Valley and see the thousands of tiny pigeon houses carved into the white rock formations. Your guide will explain why pigeons once played an essential role in local agriculture and daily life.
Traditional Onyx Stone Demonstration
Visit a local workshop to watch how onyx gemstone and other regional volcanic stones are shaped and polished by skilled craftspeople. This brief demonstration provides an authentic introduction to Cappadocia’s traditional stonework and handicrafts.
Return Transfer to Your Hotel
After the final stop, you will be transferred safely back to your accommodation. Because this is the full, uncompromised South Cappadocia route, the tour finishes between 18:00 PM and 18:30 PM.

- Children aged 8 and under receive a 50% discount. Children over 8 are charged the adult price.

Does the Green Tour operate when it rains?
The tour normally operates in light or moderate rain. However, the Ihlara Valley walk may be shortened or omitted during very heavy rainfall for safety reasons.
How difficult is the Ihlara Valley walk?
The 3.5 km route requires a moderate level of fitness. The path includes natural and occasionally uneven surfaces but is manageable for most active travellers.
What should I wear for the Green Tour?
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking. A light jacket is useful during cooler months, while a hat and sun protection are recommended in warmer weather.

I have no fault of this experience from pick up to drop off it was professionally and enjoyably... done. The staff were fun and friendly. The pilot was talented and added some fun aspects shadows on rock faces, commentary etc. It can be a bit daunting to spend this much on an experience but this is one of those that are really worth it.
