What to Expect
Early-Morning Flight from Istanbul
Your Cappadocia highlights day trip from Istanbul begins with an early domestic flight from Istanbul Airport or Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Your confirmed departure airport, flight schedule and meeting time will be provided with your booking details.
Arrival in Cappadocia
After landing at Cappadocia Airport, you will be transferred to our office, where you will meet your professional guide and the other participants joining the tour. From here, begin your full-day Cappadocia sightseeing tour.
Pigeon Valley Panorama
Start at Pigeon Valley, where thousands of pigeon houses were carved into the soft volcanic rock. Take in panoramic views of the valley while learning about the traditional role of pigeons in Cappadocian agriculture.
Explore an Underground City
Visit either Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu Underground City, according to the daily operational plan. Descend into the tunnels, storage areas and living spaces once used by communities seeking safety underground.
Uçhisar Castle Panorama
Continue to a viewpoint below Uçhisar Castle, Cappadocia’s highest natural landmark. Admire its remarkable rock-cut structure and the wide views across the surrounding valleys. Entry to the castle is not included.
Lunch at a Local Restaurant
Enjoy a set-menu lunch at a local restaurant before continuing with the afternoon visits. Vegetarian meals can usually be arranged when requested in advance; drinks are not included.
Explore Zelve Open-Air Museum
Visit Zelve Open-Air Museum, a former cave settlement where rock-cut homes, churches and monastic spaces reveal centuries of Cappadocian life.
Walk Among the Fairy Chimneys of Paşabağ
See the famous fairy chimneys of Paşabağ, among Cappadocia’s most distinctive natural formations. You will have time to walk among the mushroom-shaped rock formations and take photographs.
Discover Avanos Pottery

Devrent Valley

FAQs
Is this a good tour for first-time visitors to Cappadocia?
Yes. This tour is designed for travellers who want a broad introduction to Cappadocia in one day. It combines major historical sites, valleys, fairy chimneys and traditional craftsmanship in a single sightseeing programme.
Can I take a hot air balloon flight on the same day?
No. Balloon flights operate at sunrise, before the morning flight from Istanbul arrives in Cappadocia. If a balloon flight is important to you, staying at least one night in Cappadocia is recommended.
Is the underground city suitable for travellers with claustrophobia?
Underground cities include narrow passages, low ceilings and enclosed spaces. Travellers with claustrophobia, limited mobility or respiratory concerns should consider this before booking.
How much walking is involved?
The tour includes light to moderate walking at historical sites, viewpoints and Paşabağ. Some areas have uneven ground, stairs or slopes, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Can I make separate evening plans in Istanbul after the tour?
This is a long same-day experience with an evening return flight to Istanbul. Flight schedules and airport procedures may affect the final arrival time, so keeping the rest of the evening free is recommended.
Can I extend my stay in Cappadocia instead of returning to Istanbul on the same day?
Yes. Please contact us before booking if you would like to arrange a different return-flight date.
