What to Expect
Meet Your Horse and Guide
Upon arrival at the ranch, you will meet your local trail guide and receive a safety briefing. Your horse will be selected based on your height, weight and previous riding experience.
Prepare for the Ride
Beginners will receive basic instructions on controlling and communicating with the horse before leaving the ranch. No previous horseback riding experience is required.
Chase the Balloons on Horseback
When balloon flights are operating, the guide selects the riding route according to the balloons’ flight direction that morning. You will follow their movement from the ground while riding through Cappadocia’s natural landscape.
Experience Cappadocia at Sunrise
Ride between fairy chimneys, valleys and rock formations as the first morning light reaches the landscape. Since balloon routes change with the wind, the scenery and viewpoints may be different each day.
Take Photos Along the Route
The guide may stop at suitable locations where you can photograph the horses, balloons and sunrise scenery. Stops depend on the balloon direction, trail safety and the pace of the group.
Return to Your Hotel
After approximately 90 minute of horseback riding, you will return to the ranch and be transferred back to your hotel.

Important Notes
Booking and Payment
- A 30% deposit payment is required at the time of booking.
- The remaining balance required to be paid in cash on the day of the tour.
Cancellation and Refund
- Free cancellation is available up to 24 hours before the tour date.
- In case of late cancellation or no-show, the full booking cost will apply.
Hotel Pickup and Drop-Off
- Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from centrally located hotels throughout Cappadocia.
- Pick-up is scheduled approximately one hour before sunrise.
- Your exact pick-up time will be confirmed one day before the tour.
Rider Requirements
- No previous horseback-riding experience is required.
- Participants must be at least 14 years old.
- Children under 14 are not permitted to join the tour.
- The maximum permitted weight is 95 kg per rider.
- The tour is not suitable for pregnant travellers or guests with serious back problems.
- Private horseback riding tours are available upon request.

- The route depends on the balloons’ flight direction on the day of the tour.
- If balloon flights do not operate, the balloon-chasing experience will not be available.

What does “chasing the balloons” mean?
When hot air balloon flights are operating, riders follow the balloons’ general flight direction from the ground. The guide selects a suitable riding trail according to their movement that morning.
Does the tour follow a fixed route?
No. The route depends on the balloons’ flight direction on the day of the tour, as well as wind and safe trail conditions.
Are balloon views guaranteed?
No. Balloon flights depend on weather and operational conditions. The balloon-chasing experience is available only when the balloons are operating.
Will we ride directly underneath the balloons?
The tour follows the balloons from the ground, but their altitude, distance and exact path depend on the wind. Riding directly underneath or close to them cannot be guaranteed.
Can beginners join the tour?
Yes. No previous horseback riding experience is required. Beginners receive basic instructions before the ride and are accompanied by a local trail guide.
How is my horse selected?
The ranch selects a suitable horse according to your height, weight and riding experience. Participants do not normally choose their own horses.
Can I ride without a guide?
No. All rides are accompanied by a local trail guide for safety.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes suitable for horseback riding. Early mornings can be cold, so a jacket or seasonal layers are recommended.
